About the Author:

Johnny was born and raised in East Tennessee and is a huge Tennessee Volunteers fan.  He also lived in Alabama and Texas before moving to Alaska in 2013 where he lives with his wife Amy and son Will.  He likes to hike, fish, and kayak.    He is a history buff and is currently working on a PhD in American History and would be finished by now if he did not like to hike, fish, and kayak.

Johnny has worked as an engineer, nuclear power plant worker, community college history teacher, and probation officer.  He is currently an Eligibility Technician with Alaska’s Division of Public Assistance.  He serves as coach for ACF Guest Services and leads a weekly men’s small group that focuses on apologetics and questions of faith.

One of Johnny’s favorite verses from the Bible is Deuteronomy 33:26-27.  He owns a picture of an airplane with these verses printed across the bottom.  During the earthquake of 2018, this picture fell from a shelf and into a drawer full of clothes that had shook open at the same time.  It was the only thing on the shelf that escaped damage.  The verses read: There is no one like the God of Israel.  He rides across the heavens to help you, across the skies in majestic splendor.  The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you.  He drives out the enemy before you; he cries out, ‘destroy them!’
