Happy Friday, friends! We are almost at the end of our week of memorization and my prayer is that you have begun to sink God’s word a bit deeper into your heart this week. Today I encourage you to stretch your practice of memorizing God’s word a bit further.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us that “death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Do you know that what you say wields such power, not only over those around you – to build up or tear down – but also over yourself?
Today I challenge you to speak the verse you’ve been memorizing this week out loud. Quote it in the shower or as you get ready this morning, recite it on your way to work or when a challenging moment arises, as you make dinner or as you put your kids to bed. Not only does speaking aloud help our brains remember, but when you are speaking the words of the Living God over yourself and others throughout your day, it changes things! As you go through today, choose to speak life into every empty space and watch how God uses it in your own heart and the hearts of others.
